You hear other cars start their engines and someone talking on a mic.
Look up, check that something is going on in the central piece, surrounded by floral arrangements. You know it’s time for the beauties to dive into the spotlight.

The Parade
You start walking at a quick pace but not so much as people think you’re crazy, to get a good spot. And there it is, the place where the cars will go towards, turn around and drive away from. You only need for no one to get between you and them, which the media badge helps with.

The parade starts.
One after the other, some of the cars you’ve already laid your eyes on, start driving past you slowly as the presenter reads a bit about them out loud, while receiving the car and driver with a smile, some very well deserved congratulations, and at times some seconds for some words from them about their pride and joy.

The best thing is that you are here just to enjoy. There is no competition at the time, and you don’t have to pick your favourites. You do anyway, because that’s how us car enthusiasts are wired, but each and every one of them really deserve the love from the crowd, as having them running and in such a beautiful condition is, many times, not a small feat.

Ferrari Collection
If you recall from last year’s event, there was a very nice Ferrari Collection in the middle of the Mariënwaerdt field, that included four cars and a Fiat Bartoletti transporter used to take Ferraris to the track.

That was an amazing treat back then, but it did not prepare me for what I was about to experience this year.
Over 3 times the amount of Ferraris were on display this year, and that is if you don’t count the ones that were on the field.
