As mentioned in Chapter 1, Wheels Mariënwaerdt is a Concours d'Elegance, so a variety of car clubs had to be present.

There were several brands in attendance, and that was really a joy to see. Many brands with their best units on display, tidy and together, for one to enjoy.

Brands like Lancia, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Alfa Romeo and even Spyker had their own section in the premises. Not all were part of the actual Concours, but they definitely are worth a share anyway.

Here are some of the pictures I took of them.

Table of Contents

Lancia

Maserati

Alfa Romeo

Spyker

And more

There are more pictures of many of these beauties, but can't share them all here.

Feel free to reply to this email or comment the post with what else you'd like to see and I can share some more!

But where is this Concours you keep talking about?

Well, I cannot wrap this article up without sharing photos of the actual Concours d'Elegance winners, can I? These are some of the winners:

Just when the day was ending, I was about to leave and noticed a bit of extra movement.

I visited the event on Friday. But the event would go on through Saturday and Sunday as well. So I figured they would leave the Concours d'Elegance for Sunday as one usually does, but turns out they did not, and it was the closing highlight of the Friday.

It might be that on other days there would be different competition and prizes, but it was a great thing to see on Friday as a wrap up of the day.

So I found a spot where I could see the cars from very up close before they got to the platform and got their coronation.

This is the spot I took most of the pictures in this section from. Which is your favourite?

This wraps up Chapter 2 of the coverage.

Let me know which car or picture was your favourite, and I might share some more in the future if there's enough interest!

Chapter 3 will be in your inbox soon.

In the meantime, I also briefly wanted to share something very dear to me before some closing words.

My course is a success!

One person, Ash (thanks buddy!) has gone through my free course and shared his results.

You might think "hey, one person is not much, that course is far from a success" and you would be wrong.

The reason I created this course is because when I started drawing cars, I had to learn in the dark from several different sources and get stuff together myself.

The course I created was so that people have what I wish existed when I started over 6 years ago. I made it straightforward and free, so people don't have a financial barrier to hop into this hobby I love so much.

And reading this has made my month, because it's exactly what I wanted:

I literally wouldn't have known where to start without going through your course from the start, and look where I ended up - it is clearly really very useful for noobs!

Ash

So here's his work in progress, a picture of my car when we first met, no less, and if you'd like to follow the same course he did to get these results, you can join here.

Mind you, this is the first time Ash uses Affinity, and the course even is for the previous version of the app, since they have just launched a huge free overhaul this month.

If there's interest, I will update the course to be up to date with the latest version and easier for everyone to follow.

Share your work in progress with me and I will proudly share it with the rest of the world if you want!

That’s it for today!
